CANNABIS LEAF JUICING FOR ARTHRITIS, IRRITABLE BOWEL, MIGRAINES??? What do you think? (great video link at the end)

Many people are aware of the health benefits of NON-PSYCHOACTIVE, raw form, marijuana leaves and buds. They contain a highly anti-oxidant, anti-inflammatory, and anti-cancer nutrient compound known as cannabidiol (CBD) that is proving to be capable of some powerful healing.

Unfortunately, so much of the hype surrounding this issue has led to sweeping generalizations that marijuana in *all* of it’s forms is a miracle.

As with many things, the discoveries of scientific research on the Cannabis plant have led to facts that rest somewhere in the middle.

It is well documented that non-psychoactive CBD can activate specific receptors found throughout the body to produce healing, particularly in the central nervous system and the immune system.

Unlike smoking marijuana, raw cannabis does not provide an immediate relief to those who require acute symptom relief, the effects can take three to five days and even up to eight weeks to be noticed. But the benefits of drinking raw cannabis juice are immense.

People are using cannabis juice to get well, not high. Whereas, smoking marijuana is linked to increased risk of cancers of the esophagus, lungs, head and neck. (*1) Cannabis smoke contains many of the same carcinogens as tobacco smoke, including greater concentrations of certain aromatic hydrocarbons such as benzopyrene. Moreover, in studies, long-term smokers of marijuana show definitive cellular abnormalities in the lungs. Chronic exposure to cannabis smoke has also been associated with the development of pre-cancerous changes in bronchial and epithelium cells in similar rates to tobacco smokers.

But juicing the plant holds promise for many illnesses. Researcher Ethan Russo states that “we have endogenous cannabinoids in our bodies, that turn out to be very effective at regulating immune functions, nerve functions, and bone functions.” Dr. Russo says that people who do not naturally produce the necessary amount of cannabinoids may be more susceptible to illnesses such as irritable bowel syndrome, glaucoma and migraines.

Dr. William Courtney, who believes that juicing cannabis is the best way to use the plants medicinal properties, uses Cannabis juice for patients suffering from:

- Inflammation
– Diabetes
– Free radicals
– Cancer
– Arthritis
– Lupus
– Hypothyroidism
– Infection
– Asthma

KIRLIAN PHOTOGRAPHY OF A LEMON!

This picture of a lemon is done by Kirlian photography, discovered by Russian inventor, Semyon Kirlian in 1939. He learned that “when connected to a source of voltage, an object placed in contact with a photovoltaic plate will produce a corresponding image of that object on the plate. And the resulting image will also contain a visual display of the object’s electrical “aura,” of sorts, that both surrounds and emanating from it.”

This gave way to the theory that the more light or energy is emitted signifies more ‘aliveness’ in the food. In the 1970’s at UCLA, a team of researchers was able to reproduce the Kirlian effect in photographs showing us the powerful energy of raw foods.

There are so many  reasons to eat blueberries and blackberries and actually all purple and blue fruits! Blue and purple fruits and vegetables contain nutrients like lutein, zeaxanthin, resveratrol, vitamin C, fiber, flavonoids, ellagic acid, and quercetin. These nutrients support retinal health, lower LDL cholesterol, boost immune system activity, support healthy digestion, improve calcium and other mineral absorption, fight inflammation, reduce tumor growth, act as   anti-carcinogens in the digestive tract, and limit the activity of cancer cells.

Whole fresh fruits are great to eat solo, so we can enjoy the flavors all on their own. But every once and a while, you just want something unique and delicious, and that’s why we have raw desserts! A raw dessert like this incredible pie is perfect to bring to a party or to make for a birthday celebration. Definitely a pie to enjoy in small bites, as it’s fairly high on the fat meter  But it is AWESOME and bursting with flavor, and it is also so easy to make. I hope you and your loved ones enjoy this!

Crust Ingredients:

1/2  cup walnuts
1/2 cup dried unsweetened shredded coconut
3/4 cup softened pitted dates (soak if your dates are dry)
1/2 cup oat flour (just grind gluten free oats in your blender)
2 tsp. orange zest

Filling Ingredients:

2 cups fresh berries (I used blueberries and blackberries)
1 1/2 cups raw cashews (soaked for 6 hours and drained)
1 vanilla bean, scraped out
1/4 cup maple syrup
3 Tablespoons coconut oil
1 tsp. ground culinary lavender flowers

Directions:
MAKE THE CRUST:
Put all crust ingredients in food processor until fully blended.  Press into the bottom of a 9-inch springform pan (or another 9-inch-round cake pan or pie pan). Clean out food processor.

MAKE THE FILLING:
Place all filling ingredients into food processor and blend until totally smooth and creamy.

Pour filling on top of the crust and refrigerate for at least four hours.

Hi Liana, my mother was just diagnosed with kidney cancer and I was hoping you could provide me with some diet and nutrition ideas to help bring her into a more alkaline state while at the same time providing her proper nutrition and the proper requirements of amino acids, etc. She is 52 years old. 5'4" and 165 lbs. Anything you could suggest would be greatly appreciated! Thank you so much in advance.

Hi Kayza. I’m sorry to hear that. An alkaline diet is best achieved with lots of green juices and salads, totally avoiding grains and beans and even nuts as they are acidic. I highly recommend looking into the Biomat, which a very close friend of mine used in her healing. It is an amethyst filled mat that gives you far infrared heat and negative ions and is a great compliment to healing foods.
